True, history usually judges us more dispassionately than we deserve. Even enthusiastically.

They're going to be needing some good comedians.

Thanks so much. Sorry for the delay in replying... *grink*

I can see that image so well and I love it, but — alas! — drawing such an image or doing a cut-up job is a wee bit beyond my ability. Still... I'll savor the idea for some time to come. (It would have to say "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY" somewhere in the image. And there'd have to be a Godzilla in it, too, blowing fire on the Hollywood sign while George Clooney exclaimed, "Oh! — the humanities!")

Seriously, though, I can't begin to imagine just what changes are in store for the world as a direct result of human folly, and the thought that our descendants will have our well-covered history to look at...? How will they judge us, I wonder, when our home movies will show so very many us busily exploiting everything and everyone with nary a second thought.

But I know I'm also being pessimistic here. The thing is, we may well be judged more dispassionately than we deserve. Or... Well, maybe things will turn out even more radically different than we can imagine now. You know? But, yeah, the age that may well come to be called "The Troubles" is coming to a future generation near us. Let's just do our best to ensure that something is done on their behalf, and that it's not too little too late.

Very nicely laid out, informative post.

The only thing it's missing is a "not this" picture of the MONSTER TRUCK. :) Hopefully with James Dean driving it and flattening the hybrid owned by one of Hudson's and Taylor's eco-concerned kids, but Hudson and Taylor stuck in the back seat as they're visiting.

Or something like that.

To say I worry for my son and the problems that will be facing his generation is an understatement.
